General Discussion / Re: Nothing so sad as an empty house!

I find the dormancy of this board quite sad. I consider you my friends, and this board was actually a safe place to voice personal information, fears, trials, triumphs, etc....

I am very glad that your recovering from your surgery, and hope the investigatory procedures go well.

Sorry, but i couldn't care much less about the royal wedding. I'm not one for pomp and circumstance, or for celebrating elitism. I know that for you it holds a special significance.

I so remember the good times we all had in here. Lively discussions, fun talks, educational stuff. Guess it's long gone!

In case anyone is interested (hallooo-oo!!) I had my pacemaker installed okay and am settling down with it. Lately I have 5 other hospital appointments looming, all for unmentionable investigations!

Anyone catch the Royal Wedding? How did you like it? I never missed a single second. Harry is our fave prince over here! Such a lovely lad!

Quote from: jiminpa
I've been in that position.  When friends from the church called to ask, I told them that we just didn't think the church was right for us any longer, and left it at that.
Me too. There's nothing so miserable as being held back from your calling by a pastor. That's why I don't church any more. I was never able to find a church that wasn't like that much as I would love to.

I think we do it by the way we live.  A lot of Charismatics I have known try to whip everyone into a frenzy by yelling a lot, jumping around, and really looking rather foolish.  I do believe those have useful purposes, the actions that is, but I think people will learn more about God's Holy Spirit by how we live; differently than the secularized community.  Those individuals will find many opportunities to witness.  The world needs more Christians living Holy and separated lives, not more frenzied out of control individuals.

With so much evil in the world, it could be easy to forget God is still in control.  How do we explain to people that in spite of the current situation, the Holy Spirit is thriving in believers?
