Need paint colors for Dining/Kitchen, they're kind of the same room. Next living room. Examples would be good. Thanks ladies...

I like the taupe colors...coffee, chocolate, khaki....with white trim.   I just painted my dining room a turquoise blue which goes well with the honey wood floor and white trim.  I brought in green, blue, cream and pomegrante accent colors.

Have some fun and get your kids involved!

Here is where I need help:

Couch: Old couch with a bland darker sandy brown. Really ugly IMO. However, I'm saving for a new couch.

Chair: Deeper yellow with deep gold stripes

Carpet: Really off sand color

Trim: Whit

Furniture: Dark Brown

How about the walls a olive color, olive with more of deeper green tint??

IMO, you should go with a hunter green and a tan trim.  It would go well with all your furniture.  Have fun!

I'm absolutety hopeless choosing decor! In the end I usually end up painting the walls white!

Anything but white!  Actually if you're conservative and afraid of making a big color mistake, then you really can't go wrong with some sort of light taupe (ah for men, I guess I'd have to say tan) color.  Now being that you're couch is also tanish that might not look so good, however, you said you're getting a new couch right?  A very manly option would be a new black leather sofa, possible a sectional.  Trust me, that looks awesome against the taupe walls.

After visiting the furniture store, I'm going to change the slip covers on my couch and chair. Yeah, that should save a butt load of $$$. Now I can paint the walls whatever and then go buy new slip covers. LOL...
