No better example than Jesus on the cross -

No matter what anyone says, does or does not do - Jesus still holds out His arms to wrap around you with unconditional love.

Love that is not based on what you can do for someone or what someone can do for you.

Unconditional love to me, is to ask,  how much did God love the world.  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotton Son."  To measure Gods love for us, we would need to have the ability to love the world so much that we are willing to offer the life of our only child for the life of the world..I can't comprehend that. Through Jesus, that love is unconditional by promise, that He has commended His love towards us through Jesus Christ. Therefore there is no condemnation to those in Jesus Christ.

Unconditional Love to me means that there is nothing you can do to earn it, and there is nothing you can do to lose it.

God sent His Son for us while we were yet sinners because of His unconditional Love for us.  Not because we earned it, not because we were worthy, but simply because of His unconditional Love for us.

Of unconditional love?

A love that can only be achieved through the grace and power of God. It's the agape love of God (1 Cor. 13)... Contrary to what lots of people believe, love is NOT a gift... Giving is the RESULT of love (John 3:16). Instead, the Bible calls it a WAY (1 Cor. 12:31)... It has to be taught to us by the Holy Spirit, and that takes TIME and right RELATIONSHIP with God through His Spirit... It is achieved as the nature of Christ is produced within us. God doesn't just want us to have just an 'understanding' of His love for us, but He wants us to be able to walk in that love towards others... We share His love by being an example of His love... Christ revealed the love of God for us by being an EXAMPLE of love, and as a result of love He gave His own life. So as God reveals His love for us through His Son, then He gives us grace and power to walk in that way of love towards our fellow man on a daily basis. Because of our love for Him, we give our lives as well and allow God to make our lives into an example of His unconditional love.
